Flammadur® E424
Fire Retardant Cable Coating
Flammadur® E424 is an ablation coating that permanently hardens when exposed to fire, and thereby absorbs large quantities of heat. The noncombustible structure formed serves as a heat shield. When used to coat mineral wool, it produces a smooth finish on the surface that prevents the mineral fibers from escaping.
Uses:
To cool cables, and thereby yield high T ratings, with an ablating insulation to prevent the spread of fire on the off fire side
To reduce the flammability of cables and reduce the release of toxic gases on certain types of cable jackets when exposed to fire.
To delay short-circuiting, permitting electrical equipment to operate longer in case of fire.
Industry Qualifications:
UL® tested and certified in CBJ 4010, for use on cables in up to 4 cable trays penetrating cementitious seal of Flammadur® E473 in concrete walls and floors
UL® tested and certified in CBJ 3008, for use on cables penetrating cementitious seal of Flammadur® E473 in concrete walls and floors
