Aluminum suface partially covered with Flammadur A128/A153
Metals with a low melting point, like aluminum, will deform when exposed to the heat from fire.  In an emergency, important weight-bearing parts, like aluminum door frames of railroad cars, etc. may not open due to deformation from the heat.

Flammadur® A128/A153, a precoated glass fiber mat, shields these important parts against fire and heat and prolongs form stability.  Flammadur® A128 is applied by brush to metal surfaces and A153 is cut to size and placed on the top of A128.  Flammadur®  A128/A153 can be protected against moisture by Flammadur® V906 varnish.

Flammadur® A128/A153-V906 has been successfully used in modern railroad cars of German Rail.*  Flammadur® A128/A153 shows excellent adhesion to metal surfaces, concrete, mineral surfaces, cables and many plastics.  Flammadur® A128/A153 is free of asbestos, solvents and is non-toxic.  For protection of cables and properties, see Flammadur manual. This method can be also applied for fireproofing of composite materials.
