Flammadur® A77HF
CABLE COATING for GENERAL CONSTRUCTION
Summary
FLAMMADUR® A77 HF, a firestop cable coating, is an intumescent fire protection coating (an improved version of A77)
Range of application
When exposed to fire, FLAMMADUR® A77 HF expands and turns to an insulating carbon char, protecting the underlying cable against heat. It is designed to prevent the propagation of fire along cables and prevents short-circuits or sparks, even off high voltage cables, from starting fires. In the case of an external fire, damage to cables and insulation is delayed for a minimum of 30 minutes. As a result, escape routes and power supplies stay available longer. Cable fire load is significantly reduced. Smoke generated from the protected materials is < 400%/min. The coating does not affect the cables' current carrying capacity in any way.
Application
Application areas must be dry, clean and free of grease.
Surface and air temperature should be > 5°C.
Please stir well before use.
The coating can either be applied with a brush or roller or using airless spray equipment. Two coats are needed.
If required, product may be diluted with water.
The dry layer of FLAMMADUR® A77 HF should be at least 1.59 mm thick, as per Factory Mutual specification. This requires a wet layer of approximately 3 kg/m².
When exposed to humidity, e.g. in wet rooms or outdoors,
FLAMMADUR® A77 HF may be additionally treated with FLAMMADUR® V 906 protective varnish, or waterproof film or plastic covering
Allow the cable coating to dry for a minimum 24 hours at room temperature before applying varnish.
All components of the FLAMMADUR System are neutral, harmless to humans and the environment and require no special labeling.
